This project involved refurbishing an existing entrance gate and upgrading the automation system to create a safer and more reliable automated entrance solution. By retaining the existing gate structure and integrating modern automation technology, the client was able to significantly improve both functionality and appearance without the need for a full gate replacement.

The Brief

The client wanted to retain the existing gate but improve the performance and reliability of the entrance system. The gate required refurbishment to restore its appearance, along with a modern automation upgrade that would provide smoother operation, enhanced safety features, and convenient vehicle access.

Existing gate removed from site for refurbishment
Gate professionally powder coated in black to restore its appearance
Gate rehung using the existing hinges and maglock system
Gate swing reversed to outward operation to improve vehicle access

Automation & Safety Upgrade

A complete automation upgrade was installed to modernise the entrance gate system and ensure safe, reliable operation.

FAAC S800 hydraulic underground gate motor
FAAC control board for system management
FAAC photocells (x2) installed for obstruction detection
FAAC remote control fobs (x2) supplied for convenient access
AES safety loop installed for vehicle detection
DEA safety edge installed to provide additional safety protection

Electrical Integration

The existing power supply was retained and integrated into the upgraded automation system, allowing for a clean installation with minimal disruption to the property.
