Hand-made double leaf swing gates

Project Overview

This project combined hand-crafted hardwood gates, premium underground automation, and smart access control to deliver a secure, elegant entrance for a private residence. The brief was to create a visually striking yet highly functional gate system that would enhance kerb appeal while providing reliable, modern access control for vehicles and pedestrians.

Bespoke Main Gate Design

The main entrance features hand-made double leaf swing gates, crafted from Iroko hardwood and finished in Liberon Teak Oil with UV protection for long-term durability.

Designed in a classic Swan Neck style, the gates measure 4 metres wide, with a rising centre section and decorative horns, creating a strong visual statement while maintaining a refined, traditional appearance.

Main Gate Specifications:

• Double leaf swing gates in Iroko hardwood
• Swan Neck design with decorative horns
• 70mm hardwood frame, TGV boarded
• No bottom rail with short, flat mullions for a clean finish
• Fully finished in Liberon Teak Oil with UV filter
• All associated ironmongery supplied

CAME Underground Gate Automation

To preserve the clean lines of the gates, we installed CAME Frog X underground motors, providing smooth, powerful, and discreet automation with no visible above-ground operators.

This setup ensures safe, compliant operation for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Smart Access Control & Vehicle Detection

The system was enhanced with smart access control, allowing convenient and secure entry management.

• AES Praetorian Guard Wi-Fi intercom, app-controlled for remote access
• AES slave keypad for secondary entry
• Procon wired safety loop (vehicle detection)
• Procon wired exit loop for seamless departures

This combination allows users to control access via smartphone, keypad, or automatic vehicle detection.

Matching Pedestrian Gate Installation

A bespoke flat-top pedestrian gate, also hand-made in Iroko hardwood, was installed to complement the main gates and maintain design continuity across the entrance.
